Live in a designated low-income or disadvantaged community

Are you a low-income PG&E customer (enrolled in CARE/FERA or similar)?

You may qualify for the SGIP Equity Budget covering up to 85% of battery system costs.

If no
Step 1: Do you live in a fire zone or had multiple outages?

You may qualify if:

  • You live in a Tier 2 or Tier 3 High Fire-Threat District, or
  • You’ve had more than 2 Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS), or
  • You’ve had 5 or more Enhanced Powerline Safety Setting (EPSS) outages since 2023
Step 2: Household criteria
Must meet one of these:

  • Be enrolled in PG&E’s Medical Baseline Program
  • Meet PG&E’s income eligibility standards
  • Rely on an electric well pump for your water supply
And

Further eligibility available if you’re enrolled in PG&E’s Energy Savings Assistance (ESA) program or if you already have incentives reserved in an income-qualified solar program (SASH or DAC-SASH).

When combined with RSSE, SGIP can significantly boost your total rebate amount—helping you save thousands more.
